An elderly woman crashed through a Bethesda Avenue storefront on Friday morning, breaking the entire front window and taking down a door.

The car remained in the store, the Water Store & More at 4959 Bethesda Ave, where MCFRS units were helping to clean up the damage.

MCFRS spokesperson Beth Anne Nesselt said units were dispacted shortly after 11:30 a.m. The driver of the vehicle, which had been parked in front of the store, has been taken to a hospital for an evaluation and check-up.

There was one employee in the store at the time of the incident and that employee was uninjured, Nesselt said. The medic described the driver as an elderly woman and MCFRS has determined the building is still structurally sound.

I’m a long-term customer at this location and am so sorry to hear about their damage. Does anyone have information about their future doing business here? Voicemail calls are not returned and the voicemail box is full. I know they have a large customer base, so I’m wondering if anyone has heard anything.
